The elderly population is increasing all over the world. Elderly people have special needs, which are usually related to the change associated with the aging process. Relocation of the elderly person in residential homes is a stressful event that requires adjustment and coping. Mal-adaptation to either the aging process or the institutional environment leads to low self-esteem, depression, loneliness, and social isolation. Participation in social interaction reduces isolation and increases the level of self-esteem and acceptance.
